Defrauding People Leads to Jail of 1, 41,078 Years
Thailand’s Chamoe Thipyaso is one of the longest-serving prisoner sentences in the world. She was sentenced to 1, 41,078 years by the court in 1989. She was found guilty of defrauding 16,231 people for about Rs 19 crore in a pyramid scheme. However, later a law was passed in Thailand that no matter how long a sentence is given to a criminal in a fraud case, he cannot be kept in prison for more than 20 years.
3, 84,912 Years Jail for not delivering letters & parcels
In 1972, 22-year-old Spanish postman Gabriel Mar Granados was sentenced to 3, 84,912 years in prison. He was found guilty of not delivering more than 40 thousand letters and parcels. The court had sentenced him to nine years in prison for each letter and parcel. However, later his sentence of lakhs of years was reduced to 14 years.

A Must Punishment for Rape
In 1994, a man named Alan Wayne McLaurin was convicted in several cases and received a sentence of 21,250 years by the court. Alan has been sentenced to a total of eight thousand years in four cases of rape, eight thousand years in four cases of forced unnatural sex, 1750 years in the kidnapping cases, 1500 years in case of assault with a dangerous weapon, and 500-500 years in some cases of robbery. Alan’s accomplice was also sentenced by the court to a total of 11,250 years.
42,924 Years for a Terrorist? Still Less!
Authman Al Naoi, one of the terrorists involved in the 2004 train blasts in the Spanish capital Madrid, was sentenced by the court to 42,924 years, while his accomplice Jamal Jougam was sentenced to 42,922 years. Later, the government of Spain, as per the law states that no one can be prisoned for more than 40 years.
An Amalgam of Different Cases Lead to 30,000 Years Jailed
It was about 1994 when a US resident of the state of Alabama, “Charles Scott Robinson” was sentenced to 30 thousand years in the case of rape by the court. The judge had sentenced him to five thousand years in total in six cases. After giving Charles such a long sentence, the judge stated that he could not sentence him to life without parole. With the thought that he would spend his all life in prison, the court sentenced him to a sentence of 30 thousand years. This meant that Charles would get his first parole when he was 108 years old.
