This is the 39th Sloka of Bhagwad Geeta from 3rd Adhyaya. According to this sloka, the thing that covers up all your knowledge and learning is lust. This lust is an unstoppable fire and if you feed it it will become worst. The lust here covers all the insatiable desires that divert you from your main goal. Your mind and emotions become out of your control by the effect of these insatiable desires. They are basically diverting you from the main issue. Whether it is the desire of bad thinking, bad doing, or bad talking you can’t achieve your goal without removing it. Also, the person stuck in the ocean of lust, can’t be able to control their mind and emotions. So, in this sloka Lord Krishna tells that what is hampering you in controlling your emotions.

Now that with the 39th sloka we came to know the enemy that stops us from controlling our mind and emotions. But the problem is to find where inside our body lust resides. So, in the 40th Sloka Lord Krishna says that Lust or insatiable desires live in mind, Intellect, and senses. They are known to be the breeding grounds of insatiable desires. From there it covers the knowledge of a person. Maybe due to the virtue of these desires, one can attain hypothetical satisfaction for a moment. But it not true. It is just covering your path so that you can’t be focused on your goal. Also, a person is unable to control the mind and emotions.

So, in the 41st Sloka of the 3rd Chapter (Adhyaya) of Bhagwad Geeta, you can get the best way to control your mind and emotions. According to Lord Krishna, if you want to control your mind, you should begin with controlling your senses. You have to be aware of what you are opting for by your senses. The controlling of senses can be a bit easier than directly controlling your emotions. Then step by step if you gain proficiency in a sense of controlling it becomes easier for you to control your mind and emotions.
