Anger is defined as “generally healthy, human emotion”. When anger increases, if you can end it immediately, it is okay. However, when anger becomes uncontrollable, problems begin to arise in all areas of life: physical, mental, emotional, and social.
Why is anger harmful to your health?
Anger basically activates the “face or run” response. Moreover, anger can result in blood pressure, stress, breathing problems, and heart diseases. The food we eat always has an effect on the mind and emotions. Your mood and emotions also depend on the food you eat. The food type that helps in relaxing your mind. Also, there are many foods that can result in discomfort. Thus, those types of food are responsible for anger. Moreover, eating healthy food is always beneficial in controlling anger.
A Sound Sleep
For calming down the mind, sound sleep is always is necessary. Good sleep helps in awakening your senses and removing restlessness and tiredness from your body. 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is the best way to overcome your anger and emotions.
Yoga
Yoga asana as described in Indian culture is very beneficial in controlling anger. However, if you don’t have enough time you can do 15 to 20 minutes of yoga daily. As it helps in the relaxation of the nervous of your mind. This in turn is very helpful in controlling anger.
Pranayama
Anger and Deep breathing are rivals of each other. If you are having anger, you can control it by a simple Pranayama exercise. A deep breath with a count up to 10 always helps in calming down your mind.
Meditation
The term meditation is associated with your mind. A good meditation practice helps in relieving your mind. Thus one can control their emotions and anger with the help of meditation. Meditation is a very useful technique to overcome anger.
