Goa Tour – Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that the mandatory testing and negative report of Covid-19 for tourists visiting Goa has been done away with and domestic tourism in the state has been restored 100 per cent. Mr Sawant said in a meeting with UniWatar here, “Corona negative report is not necessary for Goa. Only thermal checks are being done when tourists come. ” However, he said that domestic tourism in the state has now come almost equal to the pre-Covid situation.
However, the state government is ensuring that the Covid protocol is fully followed at hotels and tourist destinations. The Government of Goa is following the protocol laid down by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Also, Mr Sawant said that for the purpose of helping people associated with the tourism industry, which is badly affected due to Covid, a tax of 50 per cent has been given on the tax on commercial and tourist vehicles.
Moreover, he said that he has spoken to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Home Ministry about allowing international tourists, especially tourists coming from charter planes, to come up with the Covid protocol. Discussing the impact on the state’s economy due to Covid-19, the Chief Minister said that the highest revenue in Goa comes from Goa Tour, followed by industry, then mining and then agriculture.

Old Goa
